USCG Vessel Safety Checks take approx. 15 minutes to conduct, and result in the issuance of USCG Auxiliary Decal that allows others in law enforcement know that your vessel is in full compliance with Federal and State boating laws for the year.
NOTE: The boat owner MUST BE PRESENT during the inspection, and the CURRENT REGISTRATION must be available. Items checked will include life jackets, registration and numbering, nav. lights, ventilation, fire extinguishers, horns (and air horns), flares (MAKE SURE THESE ARE CURRENT!!) and battery covers and connections. NOTE: Vessels =/> 26' LOA must have a bell on board (MA Law).
